Ambassador Domingos Dias Pereira Mascarenhas presented today, March 15, his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Sahle-Work Zewde, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, accrediting him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cabo Verde to Ethiopia.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mascarenhas shared with President Sahle-Work Zewde the main points of the agenda proposed by Cabo Verde for joint work between the two governments and the business communities of both countries, aiming to establish a strong partnership between Cabo Verde and Ethiopia, with a special focus on air transport, tourism, and education, considering their transversality and complementarity.

The fisheries sector was also identified as of interest for bilateral cooperation, given Ethiopia's landlocked status and Cabo Verde's potential as an archipelagic state.

The ceremony took place in an atmosphere marked by extreme cordiality, explained by President Zewde's background as a career diplomat and her previous accreditation as the first Ethiopian Ambassador to Cabo Verde, and Ambassador Domingos Mascarenhas being the first Cape Verdean Ambassador accredited to Ethiopia.
