Cabo Verde's Foreign Policy and its Diplomacy in general can be summarized, overall, in the following pillars or structural axes of intervention:
- The Political Pillar (peace, security, defense, governance, and human rights defense);
- The Sustainable Development Pillar (economic, environmental, social, and cultural, including economic diplomacy, trade issues, and issues related to science, technology, and innovation - STI - and others of a global and sectoral nature);
- Regional Integration (sub-regional and inter-regional);
- The Mobility Pillar (Migration and Communities);
- The Codification of International Law Pillar.
Cape Verdean diplomacy, like that of any state, is exercised at the regional, multinational, and international levels.
